The Kinsale Foundation, Inc.

The mission of the Kinsale Foundation is to protect the environment, both cultural and

physical, of Kinsale and the adjacent properties, which have supported this community by

acquiring and maintaining property for public use, collecting and safeguarding documentation

on local history, promoting the preservation of indigenous structures, and by encouraging

commercial institutions not injurious to this town.

To further the goals of the Foundation, a museum was established. In keeping with the

concept of museums as educational institutions, the mission of the Kinsale Museum is to

enrich public understanding of and appreciation for the lives, ideals and contributions of

the people of Kinsale and surrounds, to preserve and perpetuate the memory of those

individuals, businesses, and institutions which have made and continue to make up the

community, and to demonstrate the highest standards of historic preservation and interpretation

of this meaningful history.
